Announcing BatchPro, an AI-powered research terminal for YC Investors
I’ve been spending a few months building this project and have worked alongside a prolific YC investor as well as a very talented engineer.
Excited to finally release the very early version 1 for the upcoming demo day of the YC summer batch. More details below.
BatchPro
Y Combinator is the most recognized startup accelerator in the world. Every year thousands of new startups apply to get a chance at joining the 3 month program out in San Francisco. Companies like Coinbase, Airbnb, and DoorDash are all alumni of the program.
At the end of every cohort (Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall) there is an investor demo day. During this time, hundreds of investors head to SF to watch these new startups spend a few minutes pitching their company. The top companies go into demo day with a round pretty much raised, and the rest normally close a round shortly after the event.
The Main Problem
Before demo day, hundreds of investors spend time researching the companies and the founders that are in the upcoming batch. This usually involves going to ycombinator.com/companies to find the companies, reading a little about them, asking AI some questions about the market, research the founders, looking at socials, etc. This can be a time consuming and inefficient process.
Why we Built BatchPro
BatchPro is built for investors to do all their research for a company, directly in that company’s page. We include the typical company bio, socials, and founders, but went a level deeper and integrated AI-powered research and chat to take the research to a new level.
Within each company you will find an AI-generated research report that includes sections about the problem the company is solving, the market they operate in, the potential TAM, and a little more insight into the founders.
At the top of each page, you also have an AI chat that enables you to either summarize the content in the company page, or search the web about a different question. All leveraging ChatGPT 5.
Our goal is to centralize and supercharge investor research for each YC batch going forward.
On a personal note, I have spent years exploring and working in the private and public markets. It was extremely fun to build a tool from the ground up for a space that I am passionate about. It needs a lot of work, but there is an incredible amount of opportunity with this project.
Thank you to Adam Hardej for helping me shape this vision and thank you to Jack McLay for dealing with my AI code headaches that I constantly caused.
Give BatchPro a try.
